eFNS Portal for Foreign Nationals

The Kenya Electronic Foreign Nationals Services (eFNS) portal is an online digital platform designed to provide foreign nationals, Foreign nationals residents and Kenyan citizens with services related to immigration processes in Kenya.

The main objective of this portal is to ensure effective management of foreign nationals within Kenya. It’s designed to make the immigration process more accessible and efficient for foreign nationals in Kenya.

The eFNS portal is managed by the Department of Immigration Services in the Republic of Kenya, under the Ministry of Interior and Coordination of National Government.

The eFNS Portal offers several key services to facilitate the application and payment processes for various immigration-related services in Kenya.

Some of the main services provided on the portal include:

• Pass and Permit Applications: Users can apply for different types of passes and permits required for staying or working in Kenya.

• Foreign Nationals Certificate (Alien Card) and Permanent Residence: Applications for Alien Cards, which are identification documents for foreign nationals, and for Permanent Residence can be made through the portal.

• Kenyan Citizenship: Those eligible can apply for Kenyan citizenship via the portal.

Here’s how to register and use the eFNS portal:

1. Register for an account at the eFNS portal. : For Kenyan citizens, a national ID number is needed for registration. Foreign residents in Kenya must provide a foreigner certificate (Alien card). If you don't have either you can proceed with passport details for registration.
2. Log in with your eCitizen single sign-on account or your registered eFNS account details to access the portal services.
3. Apply for the required service by filling out the necessary forms and uploading any required documents.
4. Pay the fees through the available online payment options.
5. Print out the application form and payment receipts.

Accessing and navigating through eFNS portal efficiently involves a few straightforward steps:

1. Visit the eFNS portal at fns.immigration.go.ke.
2. Register for an account if you haven’t already. Alternatively, you can also register at eCitizen  the account. For Kenyan citizens, a national ID number is needed for registration. 3. Log in with your eCitizen single sign-in account or the eFNS account to access the portal services.
   
   • Submit Applications : Submit new applications through this tab. Fill in the online application form and upload any required documents.
   • Notifications Tab : Check for updates and the status of your applications.
   • Payment Tab : To view and print payment invoices.
   • My Application Tab : View or print applications submitted.
   • Uploads Tab : This tab allows you to view uploaded requirements based on the application type.
   • Appointment Tab : To view and schedule appointment bookings for applications that require biometric capture.
4. Pay the fees through online/card/mobile money. Note that cash is not accepted at the Immigration receiving counter.
5. Print out the application form and payment receipts and book appointment for submission of the documents to the nearest immigration office..
